Colorado Proposal & Engagement Photography

A smiling woman sits cross-legged on a rock with arms raised, framed by a stunning double rainbow in a dramatic sky.

Hi, I'm Ellie!

The biggest joy of my life has been taking a couple's wildest dreams and their love for the stunning natural world around us and combining the two into an experience that leaves everyone (including me!) speechless.

Photos are only part of the deal. I'm also a hiker, a nature nerd, a Colorado expert, and I'll be your guide through your entire journey. Together, we'll create an experience that reflects your relationship and gives you the freedom to be fully present in a place that feels bigger than yourselves.

planning a proposal

1. brainstorm & book

The first step is to reach out! Even if you haven't decided when or where, we can work on that together. Once your contract is signed and your $500 deposit paid, we can start planning.

Don't worry, we'll cover EVERYTHING. Location, timing, where to stand, how to surprise them, maybe even what to say!

As many times as you need to talk it through, as many questions as you need to ask, I'm here to support you.

The day of, I'll be at the location early and be set in place when you get there, ready to capture the moment. After you propose, we'll celebrate and have a portrait session afterwards!

2. set a plan

3. execute & capture

FAQ

how do i make sure it's a surprise?

The best way to keep it a surprise is to treat it like a normal day. Especially so for hiking proposals. Plan it out in advance, choose a hike for the weekend, and act as normal about it as you can. If you're planning something a little more formal, you can always say you've booked a couple's photoshoot so your partner won't be suspicious of someone with a camera, then work with the photographer to arrange a moment when you can pop the question!

what should we wear?

If you're proposing during a hiking elopement, you'll probably be wearing hiking clothes. Make sure you know WAY in advance if your partner is okay with being in hiking clothes for their proposal photos. If you're going the traditional route, for guys- nice jeans and a button down is always a good move. For ladies- dress, skirt, nice top and flowy pants, jeans and a cute blouse. For either- whatever you feel confident and comfortable in.

are travel expenses included?

Yes, travel expenses are included for engagement and proposal packages. However, these packages are limited to Summit, Eagle, Lake, and Grand counties in Colorado. Any locations outside those are reserved for couples who have booked a full or multi-day elopement package.

how do i find out their ring size?

This can be tricky if your partner doesn't regularly wear rings. If they do, you can take a ring they wear on their ring finger and trace the inside on a piece of paper. If they don't, you can ask their friends and family if they know. Even if your partner doesn't know when the proposal is coming, you should have both talked about it beforehand! Ring size is something to ask about when you both agree you want to get married soon.
